Hey Everyone! My blog, Color Incognito is about how magazines such as "BOP" and "J-14" barely have people of color in them! I used to read those magazines all the time just to catch up on the celebrity gossip and read about my favorite stars. But I found myself wishing more and more that I had white skin and blonde hair. I would look up onto my wall of posters and try to find a person of color just so that I could know that I could be black and famous! I found nothing.

You know how magazines have sections about how to get hairstyles just like the celebrities? I've always wanted to try one but I soon realized that out of the 10 hairstyles they had-only 1 was for a person of color! I got so upset and wanted so badly to be white. Then it struck me- there were children younger than me out there who were reading the same thing I was. And I'm sure some of them wished they were white too. That is NOT the way it should be. People shouldn't be ashamed of who they are. So the point of this blog is to get enough followers so that I can write a complaint letter to those magazines and hopefully get a positive reaction.
